As General Counsel, Jon Fine directs legal and business affairs at OptiQly. He has spent over 25 years advising media companies and storytellers, most recently as a legal and business leader for Amazon in support of its global efforts across traditional, digital and independent publishing. He joined the company as Associate General Counsel, Media & Copyright, in January 2006, and subsequently led business development for Brilliance Audio following its acquisition by Amazon in 2007. Prior to Amazon, he directed legal affairs for Alfred A. Knopf and for Random House of Canada; served as Senior Media Counsel at NBC, handling content and associated issues for NBC News, Saturday Night Live, and other divisions; as counsel at King World Productions for Inside Edition and other reality-based programming; and, as litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, where he focused on copyright, libel, internet and media-related matters. He is a frequent speaker on media and legal matters, both traditional and digital, here and abroad.
